Redesign of Web App Security Report

Project Overview

Context

A 13-page Web App Security Report is manually created for 68 applications within a subdomain to track security health. The report is used by managers, technical owners (TOs), and developers but currently lacks an effective visual design. The goal was to enhance the layout and design of the Microsoft Word template to improve readability and presentation, while keeping the content unchanged.

Redesign the Microsoft Word template used for penetration testing reports, making it visually appealing, structured, and easier to interpret without altering the content.

Design Process

Review & Analysis

• ‍Reviewed the current sample and actual report produced by Web Security.
• Identified pain points in the current layout, including readability, formatting inconsistencies, and visual hierarchy.

Visual Redesign Approach

• Created multiple design options with improved layout and formatting.

• Incorporated IBM branding elements where appropriate.
