Steelcase: The Inner CEO project was designed to foster social intrapreneurship within organizations by creating an environment where employees could initiate and implement impactful programs, cultural shifts ,and innovative business initiatives.
The goal was to develop a framework that empowers employees to become change-makers and take ownership of driving social impact within their companies.
As the lead for the ideation stage, my focus was on developing effective engagement strategies. My initial idea involved creating a brochure that would be placed throughout office spaces to inform employees about the initiative. However, after conducting a focus group, this idea was reconsidered in favor of a high-fidelity commercial prototype, which could be broadcasted throughout the company's building and distributed via an email campaign.
Additionally, I explored the concept of internal networking events, designed to encourage collaboration and idea-sharing among employees interested in social innovation and business transformation.
Original: How can we activate and amplify change-makers within companies to drive social impact?
Evolved: How might we create space for social innovation in organizations by promoting collaborative training and engaging innovative minds?
The focus group insights helped refine the approach, leading to a more dynamic and engaging strategy. By leveraging visual storytelling (commercial prototype) and internal networking events, the project successfully enhanced awareness and participation in the initiative, empowering employees to step into leadership roles as social intrapreneurs.
